After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant I chose to specialise in charity audit before moving into the voluntary sector. 

My first role was Director of Finance and Resources at Crisis UK before moving to the newly created role of Head of Finance and Resources at the Tudor Trust. 

I studied for a Masters in Charity Finance and Financial Management and supported the setting up of the new charity finance course at Bayes (formerly Cass Business school) becoming the first internal examiner and a few years later the external examiner. 

I co-authored the Good Financial Management Guide for NCVO and was one of the first co-authors of the ICAEW’s Preparing Charity Accounts. I have been a trustee of a number of charities (including Charity Finance Group, Chippenham Borough Lands Charity and Womankind Worldwide) and over the years have been involved in a number of working parties..

 Since 2020 I have been working as a Charity Consultant.
